We are actively seeking a dynamic & supportive Heavy Vehicle Driver Trainer to join our QLD Logistics team. As an integral member of our Quarries and Cement division, you will be responsible for planning and delivering training materials and activities to Boral employees and contractors.   

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity reporting to the Logistics Manager for SEQ Tippers and based at our Logistics Depot at Wacol in SEQ. To support the geographic range this position will cover, candidates will need to have the flexibility to travel to sites located across Metro and Regional Queensland. To support you, we will provide you with a Tool of Trade vehicle, phone and laptop.

Your day will involve:

  • Conducting Heavy Vehicle Driver inductions,
  • Undertake verification of competency training and assessment,
  • Training and coaching of Heavy Vehicle Drivers including operating and safe work procedures, defensive and behavioural based driving techniques and refresher training,
  • Ensuring accuracy, consistency and completeness of the driver training, assessment and record keeping process.
  • Driver behaviour reporting from our IVMS system and other reporting tasks as required.

What are we looking for?

  • Strong experience as a Heavy Vehicle Driver Trainer or a similar role
  • Proven experience in the operation of a variety of heavy vehicles including semis, truck and dogs as well as B Doubles, ideally within the construction industry
  • Minimum HC licence, MC license preferred.
  • Cert IV in Training & Assessment or must be willing to obtain.
