Boral Construction Materials is currently seeking an experienced individual to join our maintenance team as a Leading Hand – Tradesman. Based at Peppertree Quarry and reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will be involved in the maintenance program on fixed and mobile plant equipment.

This role will work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety and Environment legislation and standards.

Your day will involve:

  • Ensuring Boral safety and environmental standards are complied with.
  • Leading maintenance contractors to ensure the Safe and Efficient completion of maintenance tasks
  • Prompt action and close out of safety issues affecting the workplace.
  • Work on maintenance / repair schedules.
  • Complete maintenance documentation.
  • Carrying out toolbox talks and pre-work instructions
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisors

What are we looking for?

  • Trade certificate (preferred)
  • A valid driver’s licence (essential).
  • Experience in fixed plant operations
  • Experience in Heavy Machinery
  • Preferably experience in the quarrying industry
  • Ability to maintain an energetic, self-motivated and enthusiastic work ethic.
  • Strong safety and environmental awareness.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Quality orientation.
  • Passion for operational excellence, safety and self-improvement.
