Your next Opportunity:

This role is responsible for the management of the Technical & Laboratory function of the asphalt business for SA and WA. This role can be based in either Adelaide or Perth.

Your primary focus in this role is to ensure product quality and compliance of products and the ongoing management of the laboratory operation.

Your day will involve:

• Managing the laboratory teams to ensure all inspection and testing requirements are met
• Monitoring all raw constituent materials and liaising with suppliers around requirements
• Development of asphalt mix designs and assessment of spray seal designs as required
• Active engagement and collaboration with internal teams to provide technical support and assist optimising outcomes for all stakeholders
• Strong daily focus on safety, quality, cost & delivery aspects

What are we looking for?

• Minimum of 10 years technical and/or laboratory experience in the road construction industry, preferably asphalt
• Tertiary qualification in engineering or relevant field (desirable)
• Laboratory Management (Diploma in Laboratory Skills) qualifications and capability to manage certification requirements (ie. NATA and State Road Authorities)
• Experience in asphalt mix design and sprayed sealing requirements essential
• Commitment and strong focus on safety with demonstrated understanding of industry best practice
• Leadership quality to effectively develop and coach team members and influence external stakeholders through active engagement in technical forums within the industry
• Highly motivated with initiative and drive for continuous improvement
