Step into a pivotal role as the Workshop Manager for Concrete & Quarries (SA) at our Stonyfell location in Adelaide. This position offers you the chance to oversee a multi-disciplined maintenance team and manage operations across a key business unit. You’ll be at the heart of our efforts to enhance efficiency and ensure the smooth running of our workshop and field maintenance activities.

 

Your Day Will Involve:

Safety Leadership: Identify and address safety hazards, ensure safety targets are met, and maintain up-to-date safety management tools.

Workshop Management: Drive workshop efficiency, manage purchasing practices, oversee P&L, and handle labor scheduling. Guide and mentor personnel while ensuring compliance with policies.

Maintenance Oversight: Govern CMMS (Maximo) compliance, communicate and monitor maintenance plans, coordinate with stakeholders, and analyse maintenance reports.

Lean Manufacturing: Promote and apply lean problem-solving tools and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor workshop personnel, including apprentices, and work with external training providers.

Efficiency and Planning: Enhance workshop efficiency through strategic communication and planning. Adhere to purchasing practices and manage workshop P&L.

Collaboration: Work closely with site management, maintenance planners, and project managers on shutdowns, improvements, and projects.

Compliance: Ensure documentation and timely completion of maintenance work. Monitor inventory and ensure compliance with purchasing protocols.

Continuous Improvement: Promote and utilise lean problem-solving tools and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

 

What We Are Looking For:

Education & Qualifications: Relevant trade qualification or engineering degree (mechanical or electrical), with a desired certificate/diploma in frontline management. A car license is required.

Experience: Proven leadership in a multi-discipline maintenance environment, preferably in quarry or mining sectors. Knowledge of fixed plant operations, concrete batching, and LEAN manufacturing is essential.

Skills:  Strong organizational and communication abilities, experience with Microsoft Office, Oracle eAM, and Maximo, and understanding of purchasing and subcontractor management systems.
