Based in Baulkham Hills, we are looking for Laboratory Technician to join our Technical Services Team.

Key Accountabilities:

Safety

  • Ensure all work is carried out in a manner which ensures and promotes the ZIP/10 aspiration and other Boral health and safety initiatives in line with Boral policy and procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Report hazards and injuries to their supervisor in accordance with the relevant SOP and as soon as possible.
  • Attend health and safety training and follow instructions and advice provided.

Operational

  • Conduct sampling in accordance with laboratory work instructions, test methods, preparation instructions and manuals.
  • Ensure sampling and testing conforms to standards, management procedures and regulations.
  • Assist in the management of Quality Systems Compliance – Laboratory / Operations.
  • Calibrate laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain the laboratory according to NATA accreditation requirements.
  • Liaise with technical and sales staff in relation to internal / external customer requirements and complaints.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with internal and external requirements.
  • Provide recommendations for innovation in product development and technical services which increase productivity and improve performance.

Customer

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customer, ensuring best practice customer service delivery.
  • Initiate actions to maintain and enhance customer relationships and ensure issues, when they arise, are resolved quickly and appropriately.
  • Customer satisfaction is regularly measured and issues addressed.
  • Build close and effective relationships with local authorities.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement improvements to the sales administrative function and where possible apply BPS/LEAN methodology.
  • Administrative systems and work flows are developed, maintained to regularly reviewed and improved to ensure the continuity of work.
  • Reporting accuracy and outcomes continually improve

 

Skills and experience:

  • Previous experience within a laboratory environment.
  • Understanding of NATA registration.
  • Quality systems knowledge.
  • Strong people skills and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
  • Strong written skills.
  • Proficient Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Sound presentation skills.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Demonstrated ability to keep up to date with relevant Australian Standards and product specification.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with all people.

Salary Range: $70,000-75,000 base plus super
